Put this simple tip into action any time you're puréeing hot liquids in a blender.
Blending hot liquids in a standard blender can be messy, and dangerous, should any splatter on your skin. To side step a potential problem, remove the center piece from the lid of the blender before securing the lid. Then, hold a kitchen towel securely over the lid as you blend, that way any liquid that shoots out the top is contained by the towel, instead of ending up all over you or your kitchen.
