Crab Rangoon Soup with water chestnuts

Crabmeat is abundant here, too, and water chestnuts and wonton chips add that irresistible crunchy texture. This soup is a whole new way to celebrate a special occasion.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high until shimmering; add wonton strips and fry until golden, 12 minutes. Transfer wonton chips to a paper towel-lined plate.

Combine cream cheese, water, coconut milk, lobster base, Worcestershire, soy sauce, onion powder, granulated garlic, and scallion whites in a pot over medium-low heat until cream cheese melts, 10 minutes.

Add crabmeat and water chestnuts. Increase heat to medium; bring soup to a simmer and simmer 3 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.

Top servings with wonton chips, scallion greens, and Cajun seasoning.
