Test Kitchen Tip

We tried this recipe with both an organic (Annie’s) and regular graham cracker (Honey Maid). We noticed the organic graham crackers (which have whole wheat flour in the ingredients) resulted in a butter with a thicker consistency.

Instructions

Combine graham cracker crumbs, water, sugar, syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a sauce pan; cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until crumbs dissolve and mixture feels smooth, 12 minutes.

Transfer graham mixture to a tall narrow glass (or a 2-cup glass measuring cup), stirring occasionally, until cool, about 5 minutes.

Add coconut oil and process with an immersion blender until completely combined and smooth.

Transfer Graham Cracker Butter to a glass container; cover and refrigerate until coconut oil has set, about 2 hours.

Serve Graham Cracker Butter at room temperature with fruit, toast, crackers, waffles, yogurt, or as a dessert topping. Store Graham Cracker Butter in the refrigerator.
