Sautéed Broccoli Rabe with Garlic & Lemon
Broccoli's bitter counterpart—broccoli rabe— is perfect for cutting through a rich and creamy main entree. This easy-to-make recipe makes a delicious side dish.
If the broccoli rabe is too bitter for your taste, try substituting broccolini, turnip greens, or mustard greens.
Heat oil in a large pot over medium-low. Add garlic and oregano; cook until garlic is golden but not burned.
Combine broth and Tabasco in a measuring cup; add to garlic in the pot. Add broccoli rabe, stirring to wilt the leaves. Cook until broccoli rabe is crisp-tender, about 8 minutes. Stir in lemon zest. Taste broccoli rabe; stir in lemon juice, if desired. Season with salt.
