Grilled Romaine with Blue Cheese Vinaigrette

Grilling your salad isn't as strange as it seems! The heat from the grill chars the outer leaves, while leaving the interior crisp and fresh-tasting — a real contrast in textures. A tangy blue cheese vinaigrette is a classic pairing with romaine.

Instructions

Preheat grill to high. Brush grill grate with oil.

Whisk together vinegar, lemon juice, Worcestershire, salt, and garlic powder. Drizzle in oil, whisking until emulsified.

Stir in blue cheese and chives; season with black pepper.

Grill romaine hearts, uncovered, cut sides down, until outer leaves wilt and begin to char, about 1 minute. Flip romaine and grill, less than 1 minute more. Serve romaine immediately with vinaigrette and tomato slices.
