Preheat grill to medium-high. Brush grill grate with oil.

Toss potatoes and asparagus with oil, then season with salt and pepper.

Grill potatoes and asparagus, covered, until asparagus begins to char, 3 minutes total, and potatoes are cooked through, 3 minutes per side. Cut asparagus into thirds, then toss with potatoes.
