Ingredients

No bourbon in the house? That's OK. Substitute with low-sodium chicken broth or water.

Instructions

Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Add onion and cook until softened, 3 minutes.

Off heat, deglaze skillet with bourbon. Return skillet to burner and simmer until bourbon is nearly evaporated. Stir in beans, tomatoes, ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, and Tabasco. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook 5 minutes. Garnish beans with bell pepper before serving.
