Apple & Rye Salad
In this Apple & Rye Salad, crisp, juicy apples play the starring role, while rye bread croutons play a supporting, yet super delicious role.
Pink Lady apples are an all-purpose apple. They’re crispy, crunchy, sweet, tart, and available year-round.
Whisk together 2 Tbsp. oil and Dijon, then toss with bread.
Toast bread in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp, 3–5 minutes; season croutons with salt and pepper.
Shake remaining 2 Tbsp. oil, vinegar, shallots, and honey in a jar with a tight-fitting lid, then season with salt and pepper.
Toss together romaine, apple, croutons, and vinaigrette.
