After deglazing the skillet with beer, the sauce will be thin. Reduce it to your personal preference; the longer you simmer, the thicker the sauce becomes.

Instructions

Heat oil in a skillet over medium. Add onions, bell peppers, jalapeño, garlic, and thyme; sauté until beginning to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add chuck and sausage to skillet; cook until browned, 68 minutes. Season meat mixture with salt and pepper; stir in tomato paste and sauté 1 minute.

Deglaze skillet with beer, scraping up any brown bits; stir in Worcestershire, brown sugar, and chili powder. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer until sauce thickens, 810 minutes.

Serve Sloppy Joes on buns with pickles.
