Seafood Lasagna

For something decadent, Seafood Lasagna enters the picture. Succulent seafood, a creamy white sauce, and pasta unite into one incredible casserole.

Seafood Lasagna goes against the “rule” of pairing seafood and cheese together. But for anyone who’s a rule-breaker (or perhaps has already indulged in this seemingly blasphemous combination) this decadently delicious dish is for you. Buon Appetito!

Instructions

Combine ricotta, ½ cup mozzarella, ½ cup Parmesan, egg, and lemon zest; season with salt and black pepper.

Toss shrimp with 1 tsp. Old Bay. Heat oil in a sauté pan over medium-high; add shrimp and sauté until pink and opaque, 23 minutes. Transfer shrimp to a bowl; add crab.

Sauté scallions, thyme, and garlic in same pan over medium-high until fragrant, 1 minute; transfer to bowl with shrimp mixture.

Melt butter in same pan over medium heat; whisk in flour and cook 1 minute. Whisk in half-and-half, clam juice, and remaining 1 tsp. Old Bay; bring to a simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally, about 4 minutes. Stir in ¾ cup Parmesan until melted; stir in lemon juice and white pepper, then season sauce with salt. Gently stir sauce into shrimp mixture.

Preheat oven to 350°. Coat a 9×9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray. Line two baking sheets with foil; coat with nonstick spray.

Cook lasagna sheets in a pot of boiling salted water until pliable, 2 minutes; transfer to prepared baking sheets.

Spread ¾ cup shrimp sauce in bottom of prepared dish; top with 2 lasagna sheets, ½ cup ricotta mixture, ¾ cup shrimp sauce, ½ cup mozzarella, and ½ cup Italian blend cheese. Repeat layering with lasagna sheets, ricotta mixture, shrimp sauce, mozzarella, and Italian blend cheese.

Bake lasagna until golden and bubbly, 4045 minutes. Let lasagna rest 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
