Strawberry-Lemon Italian Soda

Ditch the dark soda for this refreshing and light Strawberry-Lemon Italian Soda. While the whipped cream is optional, it adds a creamy and fun touch to the drink.

Ingredients

For the freshest, fizziest sodas, add the seltzer water to the syrup just before serving

Instructions

Combine strawberries and sugar in a saucepan. Crush berries with a potato masher or wooden spoon.

Add enough water to zest and lemon juice to make 1 cup liquid, then stir into strawberry mixture.

Heat mixture over medium-high until sugar dissolves. Remove syrup from heat and strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove solids.

To serve, fill four glasses with ice cubes. Pour 14 cup syrup into each glass; fill with seltzer water. Top each soda with whipped cream.
