What is Pomegranate Molasses?

The term "molasses" is a bit misleading when it comes to this bottled product. A thick, viscous reduction of pomegranate juice, sometimes with sugar, pomegranate molasses is more like a syrup.

You can find it in Middle Eastern and gourmet markets, and some supermarkets, but it’s also quite simple to make your own with 100% pure pomegranate juice.

Instructions

Combine pomegranate juice, bourbon, pomegranate molasses, and bitters in a pitcher; chill until ready to use. Stir in seltzer just before serving.

Serve tonic in crushed ice-filled glasses.
