Applesauce Tip

If you can find chunky unsweetened applesauce, use it. It adds great texture.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°. Line baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment.

Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl.

Cream butter and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium speed until smooth, 2 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl and add eggs and vanilla; beat until combined. Add applesauce and mix until combined. Scrape down sides of bowl and mix in raisins.

Slowly add flour mixture, with mixer on low, just until combined. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Scoop dough with a #30 scoop (2 Tbsp.) onto prepared baking sheets spaced 2-inches apart.

Bake cookies until golden brown around the edges and only slightly set in the middle, 12 minutes. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
