Sweet & Spicy Bacon
This brunch is all about sugar and spice. This easy to make and tasty side dish will perfectly complement almost any brunch entree.
Sauté bacon in a skillet over medium heat. Grind pepper to taste directly onto the bacon (finely ground pepper will be too “dusty” and peppery). Turn bacon over and pepper the other side.
Cook bacon almost to desired degree of doneness and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook until sugar melts but doesn’t burn or stick, 1 minute.
Grind pepper onto the bacon as it starts to cook. This will infuse the strips with flavor.
Just before bacon is finished, sprinkle with sugar until melted. Be careful not to burn.
