Test Kitchen Tip

Instead of using the Milk Bread, you can swap it with King’s Hawaiian bread, Texas toast, or soft Italian bread.

Coat a 7×11-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.

Whisk together eggs, half-and-half, mustard, and garlic; season with salt and pepper.

Toss together bread, ham, spinach, 1 cup Parmesan, onion, and bell pepper; transfer to prepared dish.

Pour egg mixture over bread mixture and sprinkle with remaining ½ cup Parmesan. Cover strata with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 375°. Remove strata from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature 30 minutes.

Bake strata, covered, 1 hour. Remove foil, and bake strata, uncovered, until browned and a thermometer inserted into center registers 160°, 10 minutes more. Let strata stand 10 minutes before serving.
