Keep Your Turkey Warm in a Cooler

Coolers' insulating power doesn't just keep things cold. Optimize your oven space on Turkey Day with this easy tip.

Oven space is always at a premium on holidays. If you're roasting a whole turkey, make room for the quicker-cooking side dishes by timing the bird to be done early, and transferring it to a cooler (without ice). It will stay hot for up to two hours.

 

    Just keep in mind that for food safety, the internal temperature of the bird shouldn't drop below 145° for longer than a couple hours, so keep the cooler lid tightly closed to retain heat.
