Cleaning the Grill

Stop scraping and start steaming your grill grates after cooking for an easy way to get them clean.

Cleaning the grates of a barbecue or grill can be a pain. When you're through grilling, instead of using harmful, corrosive cleaners, use something simple and inexpensive; newspaper. Immediately remove the hot grill grates (with pliers) and wrap them in old newspapers that have been soaked thoroughly with water. This creates a lot of good steam for your grates to sit in. Keep them wrapped for 15 minutes. The steam loosens burned-on foods, which easily scrape off.
