At a fraction of the cost of India’s basmati rice, Thailand’s aromatic jasmine rice has comparable flavor and fragrance.


Heat water, rice, and butter in a saucepan to a boil over high; season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low, cover pan, and cook rice 10 minutes.

Stir broccoli into rice and cook 5 minutes more. Let rice stand 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
