Pecan Praline Pancake Syrup
Top your morning stack of pancakes with this New Orleans-inspired sauce — Pecan Praline Pancake Syrup. Based on Louisiana’s trademark confection, the praline, this caramel-based syrup has so much going for it. With warm spices and loads of pecans, you’ll want to make extra to spoon over everything.
And brown sugar makes for a thicker sauce, but if you’re a maple syrup fan, substitute it for the sugar and you’ll be just as happy.
Melt butter with brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, whisking constantly until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Whisk in cream, allspice, and salt; bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
Stir in pecans, rum, and vanilla.
Serve syrup over pancakes with pineapple wedges.
