The Best Way to Marinate Meat

No-Mess Marinating

Some recipes call for meat to be marinated for a few hours in a dish—“turning occasionally” to penetrate all sides. Many people may think to use a large casserole dish to marinate, but the meat doesn't always fit, and it's easy to spill the marinade when you turn it.

By making the marinade in a large resealable bag, you can easily seal in the flavor and mess in no time. Just add all your marinade ingredients to the bag, swish around a bit to combine, and then add your steak or meat of choice. Try to get as much air as possible out of the bag so the marinade is able to make the most contact with the meat. Just flip the bag around occasionally. Remove the meat when ready, and then discard the marinade, bag and all. One less dish to wash!
