Ingredients

FOR THE SOUP—

FOR THE SALSA—

The liqueur and espresso powder intensify the chocolate flavor, but they may be omitted. And since the soup reheats well (over low heat!), it’s fine to make it ahead.

Instructions

Combine whole milk, condensed milk, chocolate chips, liqueur, and salt in a saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium-low heat, whisking constantly. Reduce heat to low and cook, whisking often, until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth, 2025 minutes.

Whisk together vanilla and espresso powder until dissolved. Off heat, stir the vanilla mixture into the soup.

Toss together strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, and sugar in a bowl. Garnish soup with salsa and a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
